Roping Off The Madman's Corner
by Lucas Wellington

After his work for the 'Big Issue' and a road safety campaign poster, Lucas was last year commissioned by ISIS to produce some rear cover artwork for the magazine. Those drawings plus many others are now gathered together in 'Roping Off The Madman's Corner'. This 84 page A4 collection of Lucas' work features the words and drawings to 21 Bob Dylan songs, and also features annotated comments and lyric analysis by A.J. Weberman, although it should be stressed that A.J dosen't yet know that he has been commissioned to carry out this work.

As with much of A.Js work his interpretations should be taken with a dump-truck load of salt, yet no matter how hard I try, I always find that I am compiled to read whatever he writes, though his recent, "Dylan is dying from Aids" Internet shit, I find quite repulsive.

Luc's illustrations on the other hand I find very refreshing, with the balance achieved between the humour of 'On The Road Again' and consummate bleakness of 'Masters Of War' is just perfect.

'Roping Off The Madman's Corner' is available only from John Roberts, 19, Eldon Street, Southsea, Hants., PO54BS, and is priced (including post & packing) at £10.00 (UK); £11.00 (Europe); £12.00 (Rest of the World).
