    Snake

You were born with a snake in both of your fists,
    While a hurricane was blowing,
    "Jokerman"

Shedding off one more layer of skin,
Keeping one step ahead of the persecutor within,
    "Jokerman"

Well, the howling wolf will howl tonight,
    The king snake will crawl,
Trees that have stood for a thousand years,
    Suddenly will fall.
    "Man of Peace"

His eyes were two slits, make any snake proud,
With a face that any painter would paint,
As he walked through the crowd
    . "Angelina

"How far y'all goin'," Ruby asked us with a sigh,
"We're going all the way, 'til the wheels fall of and burn,
"'Til the sun peels the paint, and the seatcovers fade, and the water moccasin dies."
    "Brownsville Girl"

Wiggle wiggle wiggle rattle and shake,
Wiggle like a big fat snake!
    "Wiggle Wiggle"

He saw an animal as smooth as glass,
Slithering his way through the grass.
    Saw him disappear by a tree near a lake . . .
    "Man Gave Names..."

He was well-prepared, I knew he was,
Paying attention like a rattlesnake does,
When he's hearing footsteps trampling over his flowers.
    "Caribbean Wind - Alternate Version"

You know the streets are filled with vipers, Who've lost all ray of hope,
You know it's not even safe no more in the palace of the pope.
"Don't Fall Apart on Me Tonight"

    Sermon on the Mount

Now we heard the Sermon on the Mount
And I knew it was too complex.
It didn't amount to anything more,
Than what the broken glass reflects.
When you bite off more than you can chew,
You got to pay the penalty.
    "Up to Me"

Took a stranger to teach me,
To look into Justice's beautiful face,
And to see an eye for an eye,
And a tooth for a tooth.
    "I and I"

It's the last temptation, the last account,
The last time you might hear,
    The sermon on the mount,
    Last radio's playing.
    "Shooting Star"

Do I need your permission to turn the other cheek?
If you can read my mind, why must I speak?
    "Angelina"

Now when all of the bandits you turn your other cheek to,
All lay down their bandanas and complain,
And you want somebody you don't have to speak to,
Won't you come see me Queen Jane?
    "Queen Jane Approximately"
